[Karmic Acts of Kindness] 31 Days of Kind Acts - Spring Clean
The Karmic Kids and I have been spending the past few weeks during our annual spring clean. Okay, technically, it is still fall for another few days but the intention is the same. More than just cleaning out to make room for new gadgets, gizmos, and what-nots, we are cleaning to be kind. Where's the kindness in cleaning, you ask? Well, let me tell you. To date, we have purged over 200 lbs of clothes and coats, at least 100 pounds of toys and games, another 100+ pounds of books, five large boxes of kitchen items, a giant bag of personal items (mini-shampoos, lotions, etc), and three more giant bags of "stuff." And, we are still cleaning! After many discussions on kindness and karma, the Karmic Kids have decided to donate many of these items to the following agencies: ARC and Disabled Veterans. (The toiletries, clothing and toys will be donated to various safe houses in the Boulder/Denver metro area) So, why did the Karmic Kids choose these two agencies? With the infinite wisdom that comes from 4-, 5- and 7-year-olds, they said "A lot of people think these other people look and feel different, but they aren't. Maybe if we donate these things people will start thinking they are okay and want to be kind to them." And, I believe they are right. Whatever your reason, share some kindness today by "spring" cleaning and donating the items to the agency of your choice. Your donations help to provide jobs and education for those deemed "different." Your donations help empower others with choice. And, that, my friend, is the ultimate karmic act of kindness.
Have a ab-fab Thursday!
In chaos, karma, creativity and kindness,
Julie
