[Avon Walk for Breast Cancer] A Word About Blisters

Blisters are a pain - literally and figuratively. With all the walking that I've started doing for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, I've been getting one on my heal. Ouch! So, I did some research that I thought I'd share to help you out with your walking. (Remember, I'm just a novice walker and not a medical expert.)

Have good shoes - Make sure the fit is right. Don't skimp with general walking or casual peds. Invest in a pair of solid, quality running shoes that provide ample support and fit.

Wear nylon socks - Cotton socks hold in moisture which causes your feet to blister. Wear nylon socks that repel the water.

Experient with salves or blister cover-ups. There are a ton on the market which I'm sure I'll be trying out. I'll let you know what works for me.

Wear Crocs or flip-flops. When you aren't walking, let your feet air out. My fav is Crocs because I can wear them with socks in any weather.

Happy walking!
Julie
