[Avon Walk for Breast Cancer] The First Step

One of my lifetime goals has been to participate in a breast-cancer walk in support of all those who have been affected by breast cancer. Friday, I took the first step towards this goal by signing up for the Avon 2-Day 39.3 mile Walk for Breast Cancer on June 23 and 24, 2007 in Denver.

I am committed to raising at least $1800 for the cure. I am asking for your support to help achieve this financial commitment by making a monetary donation. Whether you can spare $1, $100, $1000, or more, every dollar received will move researchers closer to a cure for breast cancer. Every 3 minutes, one person – man or woman – is diagnosed with breast cancer, and every 14 minutes a life is lost to breast cancer. Together, we can help lower this statistic. You can donate online. Additionally, if there is someone you would like me to honor during this walk, please let me know!

I made the choice to document my journey so you, too, can experience the ups (and downs) along with me. We live much of our life wondering what we could do to make a difference. Here’s our chance to step forward, take action and create a powerful karmic act of kindness.

With inspiration and imagination,
Julie
